Despite the latest Lockdown, medical appointments can still continue and Mr Gaunt is available for face-to-face consultations at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, the Bury St Edmunds BMI Hospital and at 9 Harley Street, London, (with strict screening when making the appointment and on arrival at all locations). Mr Gaunt would also be happy to see patients in these locations who have previously seen him in Norwich, or new patients who would normally choose the Spire Norwich Hospital, in order to consult him about vascular, venous or arterial conditions or concerns that they may have.
For initial consultations at the Nuffield Cambridge Hospital, a remote consultation has to take place first, then we are able to offer a face-to-face follow-up.
If you prefer to have a remote consultation, we are still able to offer telephone and video consultations: for remote and face-to-face consultations, please call my secretaries on 01223 305858 for more details or email megsecretaries@michaelgaunt.com
All Medical Insurance Companies have agreed to pay for remote consultations as normal during this time, as per your policy. This has been enabling us to provide a service to new and post-operative patients.
For video consultations we can use one of the free apps such as SKYPE or the ZOOM conferencing app. It is essential to download the ZOOM app before a consultation, as it speeds up the connection to Mr. Gaunt’s clinic and maximizes your consultation time.
For new patients choosing a remote consultation, we are able to provide an initial assessment of the condition and an explanation of treatment options available and information leaflets, prices etc, so that you have time to consult these. Once you feel happy to attend for a face-to-face consultation, an ultrasound scan can be performed by Mr. Gaunt himself in the clinic of your choice to firm up the options prior to scheduling treatment.
For follow-up patients we are able to assess the results of surgery, answer any queries and plan additional treatment (e.g. for thread veins etc) in Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and London. If any complications require treatment such as antibiotics, then a prescription could be sent to you or arranged via your GP.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding during this unprecedented time.
